  1. Start here: four common questions

    Getting started

    #

    What is DueSimple?

DueSimple is a paycheck-planning application. It organizes expected income, obligations, recurring spending allowances, debt minimums, and goals around upcoming paychecks so you can see what is covered, what needs attention, and what remains available.

  2. Getting started

    #

How can I try it without sharing personal information?

Open the public guided demo. It uses one fixed fictional household with sample income, bills, spending, debt, and goals. No account is required to inspect the plan; creating or changing a personal plan requires an account.

  3. Getting started

    #

Can couples and households plan multiple incomes?

A personal plan can include multiple income sources with different amounts, dates, and schedules, so two salaries and irregular income can be represented together. The first production release has one adult account owner; shared access and invitations are future features.

  4. How paycheck planning works

    #

How is this different from a budgeting or spending-tracker app?

Spending trackers primarily explain where money already went. DueSimple starts with what the next paycheck needs to do. It places upcoming occurrences against expected income dates, carries unused projected money forward, and explains shortages and allocation choices.

  5. More answers

    How paycheck planning works

    #

How does DueSimple decide what gets funded first?

The versioned engine reserves valid locked cells, then orders overdue and required obligations by essential status, due date, priority, and stable identifier. It continues through spending allowances, debt minimums, scheduled goal contributions, and only then applies enabled remaining-money rules.

  6. How paycheck planning works

    #

What happens to money left after planned items?

The default is Keep as available. You can explicitly enable and order rules to protect a buffer, pre-fund upcoming obligations, apply money to the highest-interest eligible debt, or apply it to the highest-priority goal. A final unassigned amount always remains visible.

  7. How paycheck planning works

    #

    Can allocations be changed manually?

Yes. An occurrence can be moved, split across paychecks, locked by cell, skipped, restored, or reset to automatic planning. The matrix validates row requirements and paycheck availability, recalculates immediately, and keeps explanations and undo synchronized.

  8. Plans and pricing

    #

    Why is DueSimple free?

Getting started with financial clarity should not require another monthly bill. DueSimple Core is free because people trying to pay bills, reduce debt, build savings, or regain control should not need a subscription merely to understand upcoming paychecks. This is a product principle, not a temporary promotion.

  9. Plans and pricing

    #

    Is DueSimple Core a trial?

No. DueSimple Core is the complete essential paycheck-planning experience, with no trial and no payment card required. It is not a time-limited preview of DueSimple Plus.

  10. Plans and pricing

    #

Will core paycheck planning remain free?

DueSimple Core is free and is not a temporary trial. The essential workflow—creating planning records, generating paycheck plans, seeing shortages, and making understandable allocation changes—is designed to remain useful on its own. This does not promise that every future convenience or advanced feature will also be free.

  11. Plans and pricing

    #

Will there ever be paid features?

DueSimple Plus is an optional paid plan in development. Possible future themes include multiple plans and scenario comparisons, household collaboration, deeper automation and reporting, appropriate future integrations, but there is no announced price, launch date, or billing integration. Plus will extend the experience without turning the essential Core workflow into a limited preview.

  12. Privacy and data

    #

What information should never be entered?

Never enter online-banking passwords, card or account numbers, security answers, government identification numbers, tax identifiers, authentication codes, or information that is not needed for a planning record. DueSimple does not need those details.

  13. Privacy and data

    #

Does DueSimple connect to a bank, monitor transactions, or move money?

No. The first release uses manual forms and can restore a valid complete DueSimple JSON archive. It does not connect to banks, monitor transactions, hold funds, initiate transfers, schedule payments, or confirm that a payment occurred.

  14. Privacy and data

    #

    What can I import?

DueSimple can review and restore only a valid, signed, complete JSON archive previously exported by DueSimple. Categorized CSV files are export-only and cannot be imported or restored.

  15. Privacy and data

    #

Can I export and delete my data?

Yes. A sensitive-action check protects complete JSON and categorized CSV exports, and private stored downloads expire after 24 hours. Account deletion suppresses reminders immediately and provides a seven-day cancellation period before active data and the authentication identity are purged.

  16. Bills, debt, goals, and shortages

    #

How are shortages and partially funded items handled?

They remain visible. DueSimple distinguishes timing shortages, partial funding, unfunded and overdue items, late funding, and impossible lock conflicts. It explains the calculation but leaves the financial decision to you.

  17. Bills, debt, goals, and shortages

    #

Can a paycheck after the due date count as funded on time?

No. An amount may be funded late, but the status cannot become funded on time if its funding source arrives after the obligation’s due date. This prevents a later paycheck from hiding a timing problem.

  18. Bills, debt, goals, and shortages

    #

Do planned debt payments or goal contributions change balances automatically?

No. A planned allocation is not proof that money moved. Debt and goal balances change only after the user explicitly confirms that a payment or contribution actually occurred.

  19. Bills, debt, goals, and shortages

    #

How does the highest-interest debt rule work?

When enabled, it applies eligible remaining money to the highest APR active debt after required planning stages. Debts without an APR are excluded. This is a configurable calculation rule, not a personalized recommendation or guarantee.

  20. Accounts and sign-in

    #

Do I need to sign in?

No account is required for the fictional demo. A verified account is required to create a private personal plan, save records, receive enabled reminders, export data, or use account security controls.

  21. Accounts and sign-in

    #

Which sign-in and recovery methods are supported?

DueSimple supports verified email and password, password recovery, secure sessions, optional authenticator-app TOTP MFA, and single-use hashed MFA recovery codes. Google sign-in appears only when its provider configuration is enabled.

  22. Accounts and sign-in

    #

What is saved when I sign in?

DueSimple stores account preferences, the personal workspace and plan, categories, records and schedules, occurrence overrides, allocation choices, plan runs, completion confirmations, notification preferences, legal acceptances, and an append-only activity trail. Service logs are designed to exclude financial payloads.

  23. Product boundaries and guidance

    #

    Is safe to spend guaranteed?

No. It is a planning result based on entered and expected information, protected items, locked allocations, selected rules, and the current horizon. Missing, incorrect, estimated, or changing inputs can change the result.

  24. Product boundaries and guidance

    #

    Is DueSimple financial advice?

No. DueSimple does not provide financial, investment, debt-relief, credit, legal, accounting, or tax advice. It explains a deterministic plan from your inputs and does not decide what you should do.

  25. Product boundaries and guidance

    #

Is DueSimple a bank or finished financial service?

DueSimple is an active paycheck-planning product, not a bank, payment service, lender, or financial adviser. The public guided demo uses fixed fictional data; personal planning and saved information require a verified account.

  26. Accessibility and device support

    #

Does DueSimple work on phones and tablets?

The interface targets modern phones, tablets, laptops, and large desktops. Desktop matrix columns page four at a time, while mobile uses stacked obligation cards and does not depend on horizontal scrolling for core actions.

  27. Accessibility and device support

    #

Can I use DueSimple with a keyboard or screen reader?

Controls use visible focus, accessible names and dialogs, focus restoration, screen-reader money labels, text-plus-icon states, reduced-motion support, and keyboard-complete interactions. Automated checks are supplemented by continuing manual keyboard and screen-reader review.
